Wallpaper* Visionaries - AMO
by
The Office for Non Fiction Storytelling recently shared with us the first of an exclusive film series for Wallpaper* Visionaries. Beginning with none other than AMO, OMA’s research counterpart, Reinier de Graaf director of AMO and architect Laura Baird share their ideas of creating a world driven by a 100% renewable energy by 2050.
Reinier de Graaf - TEDxRotterdam 2010
The ambitious WWF project experiments with scale ranging from the North Sea and an energy grid for Europe to a much larger scale presenting the world as one utilizing a united energy grid. Throughout the process the AMO team has learned to represent things that don’t yet exist, traveling the world sharing their ideas.

Auction in Monterey
Steve McQueen Cars Up for Auction in Monterey
Both having belonged to the legendary auto-enthusiast Steve McQueen, a 1970 Porsche 911S and a 1953 Siata 208/S Spider have been confirmed to make appearances in Monterey. The Porsche (which is being sold by Jerry Seinfeld) was delivered to McQueen, appropriately enough, while he was on the set of Le Mans and boasts just 12,400 miles. The cherry red Siata, on the other hand, was acquired by McQueen in 1956 and has recently been completely refurbished, now sporting a 2.0-liter V8 producing 115 horsepower. As these beautiful cars have a legendary heritage, it’s close to certain that they won’t go for cheap.

Tweets we Like: Stefano Gabbana
Stefano Gabbana tweets to Unbreakable diamond
Just like you, we're apart of the twitter Crazzeee. The social network jam packed with trending topics, retweets, replies (although sometimes no responses), twitter wars and twitpics etc. Following designers such as Stephano Gabanna of..., well.., you already know, D&G (Dolce and Gabanna) gives you an insight into what they get up to in their 'spare time'; parties, shows, what food they eat what hotel they're staying at, if you're interested in that kind of thing. Anyway I digress. Gabbanas latest tweets are on celebrities style during Milan fashion week.

“one of the most innovative musical forces on the planet” - J. Varvatos
John Varvatos has always linked his fashion brand tightly with the musical realm. Bridging out a little bit from his usual suspects of aging rockers, Varvatos has recently tapped The Roots, who the designer has referred to as “one of the most innovative musical forces on the planet,” to front his 2011 Fall/Winter ad campaign. Varvatos also commissioned them to perform an original track during the campaign’s shoot at Republic Airport in New York.
